“Would you describe yourself and an extrovert?”
“Not really. I’d say more an introvert. That’s why we express ourselves in books and on stage, isn’t it? By hiding behind personas, fictional characters.”
Author Chris Rose, May, 2016
As well as having led me to a career in literature and linguistics, my lifelong love of language has quite naturally guided me to the theatre, not only as a spectator, but as an actor and director, in both England and France, and in their respective languages.
Of late, or rather over the last six or so years, I’ve acted for a French theatre company claiming to be the only established theatre company in England to present its works in the French language.
I’ve performed a variety of roles and and in a variety of plays, from Beaumarchais’ Le Mariage de Figaro to Alfred Jarry’s UBU ROI…
And it’s from here that I’ve succeeded in acquiring quite a bit of work doing voice over, for all sorts of projects, and in more than one language
– here’s a little piece to have succeeded in picking up the odd prize around the globe, named Shhn… ; animation by Alice Bouttell, poem by Helen Jaeger, and both translation into French and voice-over by yours truly >>> Shhh…
Therefore, if you’re looking for someone to, say, narrate your novel, please don’t hesitate to get in touch, and we’ll arrange a very informal discussion.
VOICE OVER, I charge £120 / $150 / €140 per hour.
